The following are testimonials from our patients

Our 19 year old son, Eric, had been experiencing TMJ pain for over one year. After experimenting with other methods such as physical therapy and jaw manipulation, and finding no relief, we heard about Dr. Giordano- the TMJ expert. Within four short months of treatment, Eric was pain free and able to fully open his mouth. He remains pain free to this day. We are so thankful to have found Dr. Giordano and his expert staff. We HIGHLY recommend them for handling TMJ issues.

I began using the orthotic and almost immediately, I slept deeper and longer at night. Insomnia was my greatest symptom of my TMJ. The fading of my other symptoms, such as locking, popping, and pain in my jaw were just perks. The orthotic take some dedication, but I found it was worth it. Thanks to my orthotic, when I wake up in the morning, I can actually say that I got a good night’s rest.

After experiencing a locked jaw and pain while eating, I went to my regular dentist for treatment where I was dissatisfied with said treatment. Changing dentists, Dr Giordano had a plan to correct the problem and by following the plan, the jaw is no longer painful. I only have wonderful things to say about the whole experience. The staff is also exceptionally helpful and friendly.

A referral from an oral surgeon to Dr. Giordano for my TMJ problems was crucial to my current wellbeing. I had been dismayed by what I read on the internet about TMJ treatments and the surgeon said surgery would not be successful. Needless to say, the thought of living with my mouth not opening normally and with pain for the rest of my life was depressing.
Thanks to Dr. Giordano, my mouth has now opened normally for over five years and my jaw has been pain free. He even improved my appearance!
Upon examining me, Dr. Giordano immediately responded that he could help me. He was right. His caring attitude paralleled by the attitude of his staff was an immediate psychological relief. The treatment was non-invasive and almost pain free all the way through braces to get my teeth repositioned after my jaw was released. I had worn braces as a teenager and remembered the pain from each adjustment and their ultimate failure. In contrast, my experience with Dr. Giordano was all positive.

For some, jaw discomfort can be a problem, for me it was a debilitating condition that honestly left me questioning how I could go on living! One day years ago, my jaw started to ache. Over time it progressed to the point where it interfered with my sleep. I ground my teeth continuously- often waking my jaw felt like it was out of alignment, and I never felt refreshed from sleep. I cracked teeth over time from clenching, leading to expensive dental work. It dominated my thoughts daily, constant reminders of my extreme discomfort. I didn’t laugh anymore, was always on edge around family, friends and co-workers. Physicians prescribed endless anti-inflammatory meds, I purchased expensive mouth guards, and even my long-time dentist had little hope to offer…..NOTHING worked! As a last resort, I was sent to a sleep disorder clinic. The study indicated possible TMJ issues and referred me to Dr. Giordano’s office. I was more than hesitant at first, not believing anyone could help me after all I had tried. After several more months of misery, I called Dr. Giordano’s office as a last resort. When my initial testing was done, I was fitted with a temporary mouth piece, and told to leave it in 24/7. Unbelievably, within two days my discomfort dropped by more than half! After a month of treatment, my discomfort was virtually gone, and with it the revelation of how low I had gotten from my years in pain. I would have never believed, or known, had it not been for Dr. Giordano’s holistic approach to TMJ. The relief comes at a cost though, and I’ll be honest, I initially I balked at the potential financial investment involved. In hid-sight, knowing what it’s done for my health and well-being in such a short period of time, I’d glady pay more to feel the way I do now. I had it bad, and it’s a thrill to say I can carry on normal conversations now without discomfort, I sleep better, I breathe easier, and I appreciate smiling again….such simple pleasures. Thank you Dr. Giordano and your incredible staff for your honesty and concern, for listening….for giving me my life back!

Dr. Giordano’s method of treating TMJ is in a class by itself. I discovered this after 40 years of pain, treatment attempts by four other dentists, and more consultations than I can count.
Headaches and neck pain were a permanent part of my life for decades. Every day was a balancing act between how much pain I could tolerate and how much ibuprofen I dared take. I have a drawer full of useless appliances, a few of which actually provided temporary relief, especially if I didn’t need to eat or talk. I have a sleep disorder which was finally diagnosed, after 3 sleep studies, as “alpha intrusions”. I never went into a deep sleep because I had to monitor my sleeping position to avoid waking up with an excruciating headache… Read full testimonial here.

I had been bothered by a painful, clicking, periodically stiling jaw for many years. My dentist helped me over the years with different temporary solutions, but when the pain became unbearable, my dentist referred me to Dr. Giordano. Under his care, my jaw gradually became much better and eventually pain-free. Now, 6 months later, my problem has been completely resolved. I would highly recommend Dr. Giordano and his entire staff to anyone seeking relief from pain due to a jaw problem. Yhe kind and caring staff are also always very helpful with any questions and concerns that I posed to them. I can’t imagine a more pleasant dental experience anywhere!

A couple of years ago, I was overwhelmed with the rising cost of college tuition and all other things. I decided to take my family to a dentist who was a participating provider in my insurance plan. We went to another local dentist. Biggest mistake of my life! While most of us just got cleanings, my daughter was told she needed two fillings. She had nothing but problems once they were drilled and filled. The dentist told her that she was acting like a girl and to “toughen up”. She went back to Dr. Giordano and after a few visits, her teeth are fine again. She suffered for two years. We all went back to Dr. Giordano!! He is a great dentist.

I am pleased once again to be a patient of Dr. Louis Giordano. Due to insurance changes, our family had to change dentists for several years. A few months ago, one of my molars broke and I made an appointment with Dr. Giordano to be seen and evaluated. He determined that I needed a crown. The crown was done all in the same appointment with little to no discomfort. I am extremely pleased with the result. Gr. Giordano’s professionalism, skill, and gentleness are exceptional. I highly recommend Dr. Giordano to anyone who values having quality care, expertise, state-of-the-art equipment and technique, and friendly, courteous care.

I would like to first start out by saying I couldn’t be more pleased with the way my new smile turned out. I came into Dr. Giordano’s office wanting to straighten out one of my teeth and he was very clear and helpful in telling me about all of my options and what would work best for me. In the end, we decided on bonding to fix my problem and I am so pleased with the results. I can’t thank Dr. Giordano and his amazing staff enough for my new smile!

U.P.Endwell, N.Y.

A smile is our greeting card, the warm “hello”. When our teeth make us uncomfortable, or even unhappy, there is little to smile about. That was how I felt about my teeth, and while it didn’t stop me from smiling, I would do so without showing my teeth.

So often people stop me, praise my beautiful smile and comment how fortunate I am to have such perfect teeth. With a big grin, I am proud to credit our move here and finding the best dentist, Dr. Louis Giordano.

Walking down the street or through the store, I am quick to say “hello” with my smile.

L.B.Endwell, N.Y.

I was referred to Dr. Giordano by my family physician for jaw, neck and head pain. The office was warm and friendly, the receptionist was more than helpful working with my insurance to get the best coverage for me. After my initial testing and finding out I had TMJ, I was seen four more times and my pain and symptoms are 98-100% better! I would highly recommend Dr. Louis Giordano and his staff.

C.B.Vestal, N.Y.

I can’t thank Dr. Giordano enough!  I can actually chew on the right side of my mouth without pain for the first time in years!  No other dentist had been able to figure out why I still had pain after having root canals.  I was told that Dr. Giordano was such a great dentist so I thought I would give him a try.  I am so glad that I did!  His equipment is state of the art and his dentistry is perfection!  He took the time needed to figure out my bite issue.

I also want to say that his office staff are the most pleasant, knowledgeable and professional people that I have experienced.  Insurance claims are always submitted promptly too.
I have been recommending Dr. Giordano to everyone I know!  I can’t thank him enough for helping me!

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and given a CPAP machine. After two months of trying to use the CPAP device, I developed sinus and ear infections. My Dr. informed me that I could try an oral appliance that moves the jaw forward to keep the airway open. Dr. Giordano and his staff were extremely knowledgeable and friendly! They answered all of my questions and concerns. They contacted my dentist, as well as, my health insurance provider. Dr. Giordano examined me, took impressions of my teeth and fit me for the appliance. I’ve used it every night since I received it. Today I feel better, I’m well rested, and have my quality of life back! I highly recommend Dr. Giordano and his staff.

I have had bruxism since I was young. Most of my baby teeth and many of my adult teeth have been ground flat. My jaw would frequently “pop” when opening and occasionally I had a hard time closing it without having pain in my jaw joint/ear area. Last summer it had become almost impossible to eat any regular foods without pain, or my jaw popping out of joint to the point that I had to help guide it back into place with my fingers. My jaw pain made it difficult to get through a full work day of meetings and normal talking. The pain of chewing and talking, fear of choking and constant explaining to people why I was holding my jaw became too much. I decided it was finally time to find a resolution.

I learned about Giordano Family Dental at a local Health Fair and had entered a raffle for a free TMJ consultation. I let the gift certificate sit for almost a year before I decided it was time to see if they could actually help.

Taking the first step to meet with Shannon and Dr. Giordano was difficult as a working, busy mom and – difficult because I knew my insurance would not cover most of the services. But – I can honestly say that it was one of the best things I have done for myself and my health. The evaluation process was possibly the most comprehensive procedure I have been through. Shannon and Dr. Giordano were thorough, caring and did an outstanding job explaining to me what they were doing and why. They took all of my comments, evaluations and concerns seriously in order to develop the best personal treatment plan. This was not a cookie cutter diagnosis process or treatment plan.

I was convinced that the only solution would be surgical or a major inconvenience. However, over the course of a few months, I saw the treatment team every 2 to 4 weeks. The regimen did not include surgery or a life altering imposition. The night appliance was fairly easy to get used to (much to my surprise) and seemed to make a difference fairly quickly. I was extremely nervous about the occlusal equilibration process (you only get one set of adult teeth!) It was a painless procedure and I immediately felt relief in my pain and grinding. We also worked through an anti-inflammatory medication therapy and ……the overall results were just short of miraculous.

Long term, I know that I will still have challenges regaining my joint health, but I have gone from all but not being able to eat and having constant pain to feeling well… pretty normal! On busy days when I talk a lot, I may still need an anti-inflammatory, but the popping joint and difficulty eating has been almost entirely eliminated.

I am grateful to the entire team at Giordano Dental. Joanna was easy to work with and immediately made me feel cared for and valued as a client. Shannon was fabulous in terms of really listening to my explanations and helping me work through the evaluations. Her knowledge, skills, and ability to hear what the client is saying are invaluable to this process. Dr. Giordano is professional, honest and thoughtful in his approach. I immediately trusted that he was considering me as an individual, responding to my specific needs and developing the best course of action for my case. I trusted him and he was very clear in what I could expect. I could not be more pleased with the results or process. It has sincerely been life changing for me.

I would recommend this process to anyone suffering with similar issues. Don’t be scared – just when you think that you will always have to deal with pain, there may be a very successful solution. Your health and wellbeing is totally worth it! Thank you Giordano Dental!!

– I’ve had hiccups since end of High school roughly started getting them every day randomly. I had thought there were triggers to this via drinking soda, eating pasta, or maybe acid re-flux but, those were ruled out over time.

– In April/March of 2015 I started getting almost 24/7 migraines. The only thing that would fix these would be 400-800 mg of ibuprofen. I’ve since cycled through a few medications in attempts to alleviate said symptoms but nothing brought me to even feeling better energy wise or the side effects made it even worse. For example muscle relaxers, antidepressants that targeted the nervous system in that associated area, and even some acid re-flux but none seemed to lower the symptoms in the long run.

– I had an ear pressure issue that started roughly around a half year before the headaches started flowing in. This lead me to a TMJ doctor in Endwell (Giordano Dental). Dr. Giordano mentioned that this would be a two primary doctor kind of issue and referred me to Michal of Horseheads Comprehensive.

– Shortly after I had to drop the other physical therapist solely due to the fact that I was feeling better than I ever had after just a few visits with Michal and the exercises he’s shown me.

– Moving forward, the topic was that I’d need a dental appliance to gain any kind of ground in the direction to healing this issue.

– Appliance obtained: April 1st 2016

– The appliance was like day and night for me.
– Regained almost full rotation back in my arm
– More easily able to let go of my shoulders (initially they were locked in a shrugged position)
– Hiccups went from 100+ a day to only like 3 or 4
– Been able to keep my neck turned for a longer duration
– By far more and more energy each day

– Hopefully more progress to follow

Thank you again to Scott Rosman for the referral, and to the offices of Horseheads Comprehensive, and Giordano Dental.

Also, thank you to the other offices that I’ve had between once the headaches started and now, as every ounce of help has kept me going to this point.

Kudos to my massage therapist for talking back and forth with me on things/muscles he’s seeing my back react with whether it was breathing or misalignment or just the change with the new device. Also for getting my shoulders out of their original locked position. This has helped me understand the viewpoints of the physical therapist combined with all the other steps along the way.

I know this is a rare case due to how everyone’s bodies react differently but, feel free to use this information to share. Whether it be for just information or to even guide someone that may have neck/back/jaw issues. These symptoms I’ve juggled through weren’t straightforward and I’m still learning how I’m reacting over time and hope that this information can also help anyone else.

I had no idea where to turn. First, I thought it was an ear issue or a tooth problem, but neither was the cause. The pain was unbearable to say the least. Ready to try anything, my dentist suggested I try Dr. Giordano and Thank God! After my initial appointment, a device to wear, and an amazing staff, I was on my way to relief after months of agony and happily pain-free today! Thank you Dr. Giordano and your great team.

I approached your business because I had heard many positive stories from people who had been previously treated by you. I’m happy to say I listened to them and I took action.

I came to you because I was experiencing a lot of pain associated with my clenching and grinding of my jaw/teeth. You took the time to really listen to my concerns. You spent a good amount of time examining my bite. Based on your findings, you crafted an appliance for me that allows my jaw to find “rest”. You also adjusted my bite.

I’m happy with the result and want to thank you for your expertise, as well as, your wonderful bedside manner.

January of 2016 I started with Dr Giordano for my TMJ. I had not been able to open my jaw wide enough to get a toothbrush in since March of 2015. I was diagnosed with TMJ disorder over 25 years ago by my childhood dentist. I wore a mouth piece for a while back then also. Once my TMJ worsened, I went to my dentist several times who sent me to an oral surgeon who told me there was nothing wrong with the joint in my jaw. I started going to a terrific chiropractor by June 2015, who referred me to Dr. Giordano’s office. I went, they did testing that I was amazed with. He found my jaw was out of joint and set up my treatment plan. I can say that after these months, the plan has helped tremendously. I will never be 100% due to the length of time I went untreated. I am so impressed with the relief I have now not only in my jaw, but with headaches, neck pain, and stress due to constant pain. My pain is very minimal and I can open my mouth again. I would recommend Dr. Giordano to anyone who has jaw trouble.
In closing, I would say if you are in jaw pain, don’t listen to the dentist and listen to yourself and go to one of the only people who really knows and understands TMJ treatment. Thank you Dr. Giordano and his wonderful assistants and office staff!

I began having TMJ symptoms in the late fall of 2014. I experienced great discomfort while chewing but the pain extended into my ear, loud clicking noises in my jaw, limited opening of my mouth and facial pain when I applied my make-up as I moved those muscles. I even experienced pain during exercise classes when lifting my head during a sit up or “crunch”. I was a mess! First, I visited my dentist, then an ENT doctor, and then a chiropractor with no promise of help before finally coming to Dr. Giordano’s office. Shannon performed several of what I’ll call “odd” tests on me and took many x-rays but it was okay because I was desperate to find a solution to my problem. When the time came for the consultation and after reviewing the test results, Dr. Giordano said, “I can help you”, there were tears in my eyes. It was a process, to say the least, because I had been reduced to little or no cartilage where my jaw and skull are attached. But after a few months and many appointments, my symptoms were gradually lessening. Today I feel 100% better! I love my appliance and feel naked without it. It makes a huge difference in my life. Also, Shannon and Joanna worked tirelessly to get the most financial support from my insurance company to lessen the cost of the treatment and appliance for me. I highly recommend Dr. Giordano and his staff to anyone with TMJ issues. They are heroes to me!!!

After having Septoplasty to help correct a deviated septum contributing to major OSA (obstructive sleep apnea), I still had a minor case of OSA. My ENT referred me to Dr. Giordano after having previous patients’ success with a dental device for sleeping. I was very pleased with my initial consultation with Dr. Giordano, as well as, the process to get the device fitted just right. It has been nearly a year and the remaining OSA that I had prior to the sleep device is nearly non-existent and I have been noticeably sleeping better through the night with more energy and less drowsiness during the day.
